Presentations

My philosophy about PowerPoint, Keynote, or Impress as presentation aids is that less is more. Clean, simple, and engaging seems to work best for my audience.  I hope that these presentation examples demonstrate that philosophy.

These samples are in PDF format and have been prepared for both local client education, as well as for regional and national conferences.

If you would like an original copy in PowerPoint or Impress, drop me a note and I will be glad to email it out to you!

  • First 30 Days Presentation - This is the all-staff presentation that I gave after my first month at Cochise County. It builds from our very first meeting on my second day on the job and talks frankly about feedback and sets the direction for the department.
  • Designing our Future – This presentation was for a followup meeting in which we set the vision, mission, and expectations for the collaborative re-designed IT Department.
  • All Staff Meeting (Feb 2010) – This is a celebratory presentation which reviews the goals we set in the “First 30 Days Presentation” above. Compare the status of the department today, vs when I started back in 2007. It’s been an amazing turn around. If you want the videos included in the presentation, they are available here:  HelpDesk Retroencabulator
  • Six Minute Presentation - You have six minutes in the public forum to impart everything the Board of Supervisors needs to know about your department… GO!!
  • BoS Worksession Presentation – A presentation for my Board of Supervisors discussing my business methodology.
  • HEC CRM Project – An introduction to the Customer Relation Management project under development for the Hampshire Educational Collaborative.
  • VME Document – Not really a presentation, but this is document is one of the results of my first 90 days at Cochise County IT.
  • AESA 2006 Presentation - This was for a talk  I gave at the annual Association of Educational Service Agencies national convention. I spoke about Open Source alternatives to commercial software for infrastructure development.
