Web Design

It came out very nice despite a bit of a learning curve, mostly due to Joomla’s specific nomenclature. Once I got through those concepts, it has turned [...]

My Own Skynet
I have been tinkering with some small simple robots from  a wonderful book  called “Junkbots, Bugbots, and Bots on Wheels”. They are easy to build and lots of fun to play with. They are cool on a completely different level than my first generation “Lego Mindstorm” gear and I am really enjoying the scrounging, found art-aspect of the [...]

Netbook Reload
Today I dumped the Ubuntu Netbook Remix (9.10) on my Lenovo S10 in favor of trying the Moblin 2.1 Beta .
I did the install from a DVD and it went very smoothly. The only thing that doesn’t work out of the box is the Wireless due to the S10’s Broadcom Drivers. You can however find a pretty [...]

Netbook Build Update
I really enjoyed futzing with the netbook this weekend.
The hardware is really solid and the keyboard, though small, is manageable. The trackpad is easy to use and the screen is very bright and I really appreciate the matt-screen finish. All-in-all, the form-factor is very nice and easy to use. Probably the easiest hard drive and [...]

Pow! Zoom!
Just to see this thing work would be amazing! Details in the paper discuss using ‘ultraviolet argon ion lasers’ to create fusion. The lasers are powered by setting off high explosives around a core of solid argon… Way cool!

Article on Slashdot
I responded to a post yesterday on Slashdot. The entry was requesting information on technology recommendations for their school in the UK. You can read my response here.
Would love any comments!
